I am running my XJR at the MVP track event weekend at Road Atlanta November 22nd-23rd.

Drats, I was planning this event on Sunday the 23rd, but I won't be back in town by then. I'd love to see an XJR out there! It'd be nice to get passed on the back straight by something other than the usual crowd of BMWs, Porsches, and Corvettes

Too bad you can't make it. I'll make sure I represent the marque well on the back straight.

I used to work the corners at Road Atlanta in the late 70's and early 80's as a member of the SCCA. We all worked the entire weekend for a keg of beer and a party under the tower on Saturday evening. I always wanted to get on the track with my Lotus or TR7, but never got the chance.

This is a "bucket list" item for me, but if I like it, I may start racing for real. We'll see.........

I'm sure you'll have a great time out there. Mark Feffman always puts good events together, and Road Atlanta is a good track for cars that can put down a good bit of power (like the XJR).

If you do get the "bug" and would like to do more events like MVP's, I'll be happy to recommend some to you.

 

Have fun. This was at Atlanta Motorsports Pare in September and the second photo is at Wannagofast in Clayton Georgia, also in September. My fastest 1/2 mile trap speed was 141+. I tried to sign up for Wannagofast at Jambolair in Ocala in January but sold out before I could register.
