Default Near the Tampa Area/Saint Petersburg/Lakeland Area

Are you located near the Tampa/Saint Petersburg area? Do you like to work on your Jag yourself?

I was really wanting to branch out and find some other Jag enthusiasts that like to work on their cars themselves as sometimes you need 2 (or more!) to work on projects and talk shop advice, etc.

Just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone was in the area and enjoyed working on them yourself, etc.

Hello Scott!

There are a few of us in the area. We just had a small get-together this weekend in Lakeland. We checked out each other's cars and discussed mods and future projects. Keep an eye out in this section for upcoming chances to join in on the fun, or set up someting in your area.

I do as much work on my Jag myself as I can. I do my own fluid changes, tensioners, minor mods and small repairs.

I am in central Florida near Inverness.

As was said by the Cat Man, a few of us got together this Saturday in Lakeland. More to come, I'm sure.

We are in Plant City, and yes try to do all our work ourselves. The Jag is new to us so still learning, but we do own a shop with a lift, etc. if anyone is ever interested in getting together for a "tech day" or something of that nature.

Although I should have been someone that would work on their cars (my dad is a mechanic) he always encouraged me to stay out of the trade and do something else where I didn't have to use my hands as much...he really pushed this on me, so I never really took it upon myself to work on my cars. I always relied on him to do that.

With this car in particular I would be concerned about doing stuff that would void the warranty. Anyone here with experience on what kinds of things can be done to the car without voiding the warranty?

I'm really interested in changing the exhaust for a better sound and perhaps change the intake...of course this can change the engine's behavior so I'm not sure if there should be a tune added to that to compensate for the difference in exhaust and intake.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Wanted to let everyone in the area know that I would be interested in any scheduled gathering of Jaguar enthusiast. I live in Seminole, just south of Largo/Clearwater.

Please keep me posted should anything come up.

Thanks

Yep. We should do another one before it gets hot(er). LOL It doesn't take a lot to put together a local meet. Just need an accessable meeting area and maybe an event or two.

Vector, isn't it your turn?

WOW, didn't expect such a quick response. I will be out of action for a while, having open heart surgery next week but, once I get through that would definitely like to meet other Jag owners in the area.

Yeah, good luck with the surgery. I'm in the tampa bay area too and I'd be interested in getting together for sure.

Default Renniger's May 12th?

www.renningers.com lake county musians swapmeet guitars amplifiers

We could meet up there, swarm the car show with Jags and take some prizes home. And they have a music swap meet there too!

The next one is this Sunday the 12th and after that it's June 9th.
