Default Need New Tires for My 2012 Jaguar XK

Hello - this is my first post on this wonderful forum. I need new tires on my XK to replace stock Dunlop's. I need a quieter ride and am looking for suggestions. Also I live in the Tampa Bay area and would like to know the best tire shop to use. Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Kerrin

I went with Nitto Motivos. So far so good. Bonus is they last more than 15,000 miles.

Kerrin,

You have many choices, depending on your driving style and other factors. Being in Florida, you don't need an all-season tire and can use high performance tires with a summer tread compound. You didn't state if your XK is a coupe or convertible, your wheel size - 19" or 20", or if you have a staggered fitment (different widths front and rear). You should add your car to your signature. Without more information, I can't give you any specific advice. Nevertheless, I'll mention that I'm very pleased with my Hankook Ventus V12 Evos that replaced my previous Michelins.

I see that you are a newbie to this Forum. You'll find that research is your friend and this forum is full of helpful members and a wealth of information. Click on the following links to learn more about choosing the right tire for your needs:

As for tire shops, I'm a big fan of Costco and Discount Tire. Costco has great prices and service but carries only a few brands. Their Tampa store is in Brandon. Discount Tire carries more and will meet or beat competitors prices. They also match their website prices in their local stores. See: Home - Discount Tire Direct You can read user reviews on their website and on Tire Rack: http://www.tirerack.com/. You may want to create a spreadsheet to track your research.

If this was helpful, please click the Thanks button at the bottom right corner.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide to buy.

Stuart

P.S. You may want to repost your inquiry in the current model (X150) XK/XKR Forum: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-33/ You'll get more model-specific advice from owners everywhere.

I have Michelin Pilots on my XKR right now and I can't wait until they wear out so I can buy something else that are NOT Michelin. I am very disappointed with these tires.
I'll probably go back to Pirelli P Zeros.

Costco has some great prices. Rotate and balance for the life of the tire. Don’t know if you have a Costco in your area. I have put 4 sets tires on 2 jags, 1 van, and a ford explorer. Michelin on all of them. Look on their web site.
