I'm not a Jaguar owner yet, but I am on the hunt and hope to purchase an xk8/xkr in the near future. I have found really useful info on this forum regarding the types of things to look for in these cars when looking at used car but would also like to get a prepurchase inspection.

I'm looking for recommendations on where to take the car for prepurchase inspection but also looking for a good mechanic to work on the car in the future.

(I've seen recommendations on this forum for Flying Circus in Durham but that may be a bit far depending on where the owner of the car lives and a too far from my work for me to travel there for routine maintenance.)

There is a Jaguar dealership very close by (Cary NC). Are there any pros or cons to using the dealership for a prepurchase inspection? (I probably wouldn't take it there for ongoing maintenance due to price.)

Does anyone have experience with Discovery Automotive in Cary?

Any other independents near Apex/Cary/Raleigh you would recommend?

I'd take it to Leith Jaguar in Cary. It might be a bit costly but they do look at everything. I took mine up there after I bought it to have them check it out. They'll give you a print out of the problems and from there I went and pieced out the work through other shops to try and save a little money.

 

Leith Jaguar Cary are great, they will charge you $200 for the inspection,
