Heh. I've driven to Myrtle Beach and back (5 hours one way) just to break in a new set of tires...and to eat some really decent seafood.

If you are coming from the west as I am, I would recommend the 411 to 53 to 136 route. The early section of 53 is a very nice ride.

 

This will be our first meet with you guys, count my wife and I in.

 

Sorry, guys, I just found out one of my closest friends had a stroke and will be operated on this week. His wife has asked me to come and help, so I'll be heading to FL in a couple of days.

 

went today to the meet location and exited the rock creek rd route if you car is pristine I wouldn't go that way lots of loose gravel has been just layed down to fill holes etc and it is very loose and avg speed 20 mph give or take... much better to go into blue ridge via 575/515/76 and come back down aska rd . once highway splits with median in center in blue ridge just after that you will see old highway 76 conn.... turn right then left on old 76 then right on aska rd ( 2nd right I believe ). then about 8 miles or so to restaurant from there . Is at the bottom of a long hill on the left.

 

and yes it is a bit of a drive but then isn't that why we bought our cats to drive around in and enjoy... and the long drive will be good to clean out all of the winter junk that has built up in the engine

i am guessing about the same amount as were there at the meeting in January the ride is enjoyable especially when you get into the foothills the stretch from blue ridge to the restaurant is twisty and up and down and the paved and gravel stretch on the way back is the same with many beautiful areas my jag loved it .

Editing - Mods haven't changed anything, editing capabilities time out after 24 hours. This is for good reason, without going into detail

It's better anyway to update the list in the last post of the thread as and when.

Gee, never thought about it that way. I drive to Kennesaw for lunch all the time. And, it is Blue Ridge, not Toccoa.
