Tampa Bay British Car Club Members and Friends:
We had a great turn out for the Festival of Speed with 16 British Cars and The Tampa Bay British Car Club was well represented with several trophies.
The Florida Suncoast MG Car Club is having a nature walk and picnic this weekend at Sawgrass Lake Park. And the weather looks good of a nice top down day.
There are a couple of Great Car Shows in Florida the next few weeks, If you are planning to attend, let me know and I’ll put the word out and you may get someone to join you in the drive to the show.

Remember, traveling in packs (Fiona said that should be "a herd with tools") is the safest way to go, so if there is somewhere you want to go and would like company there is usually someone in the club that would like the company also.

To keep a British Car in proper running order, they need regular exercise. What is better than a Rallye or Show. There are several great events in the next several weeks; Pick one, polish the car and have some fun with like minded people.
All the events are open to ALL Clubs, cars and people. Get your classic car out and have some fun.

March 14 – Vietnam Veterans of America 12 th Annual Car Show. 10 AM to 2 PM. Veterans Memorial park, 3602 Hwy 301, Tampa (1 mile south of I-4). Day of show registration $20.00. Registration open at 9 AM.
March 15 - Everyday Blessings Benefit Open Car & Truck Show. The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive. Wesley Chapel, FL . $15 Pre-registered. $20 day of show. Day of show registration time 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Awards presented at around 5 P.M. Premium Car Shows
March 21 – Dupont Cars & Coffee has moved to the USF St Pete Campus for the Grand Prix. 140 7th Ave South, St Pete. 7 to 9 AM.
March 21 – Skipping Disney Road Rally. This route takes us through some of Old Florida across the middle of the state while completely avoiding the mouse. We’ll be starting Northeast of Tampa and ending in Lakeland after traveling through bits of Hillsborough, Lake, Orange and Polk Counties. Will be around 4 hours of drive time in total with a late morning start (so be sure to eat brunch or an early lunch, or bring a snack!) and ending with an early dinner at Harry’s in Lakeland. There will be some optional unpaved segments of this route for those who care to take interesting shortcuts. Plan on 10:30am until about 4:00pm, a little later if you’re planning to eat. (Harry’s has some good Cajun and Seafood!) The route begins on the South side of Dade City and ends in downtown Lakeland. Specifics will be emailed to entrants a few days before the event. Entry is limited to 30 cars max. So, if you really want to do this, don’t dawdle, get registered! The entry fee is $32 and you can at Registration | Rally FL NOTE: Entry fee increases to $42 the week of the event. Register by March 16 and save yourself $10!
March 22 - Tampa Bay British Car Clubs Burger Quest at Capogna's Dugout, 1653 Gulf-to-Bay, Clearwater 33756. Sunday at 1:30 PM and most people come early to get a good seat. Burger Quest for March is at Capogna’s Dugout in Clearwater. Come and join us for a good time at a long time Clearwater favorite restaurant. They will have an indoor section set aside for us with plenty of parking out front. They feature a ½ lb. burger that they want you to vote as ‘ best in the area’. Website: capognasdugout.com
March 22 - The Florida Suncoast MG Car Club has a special event on March 22 nd. Lunch at O’Keefe’s in Clearwater at noon and then the Bronx Wanderers show at the Capitol Theater, the show starts at 3 PM. If you like Doo Wop, and music for the 50’s to the 80’s, this is a must see show. Check out their web page for further information The Bronx Wanderers.

March 27 to 29- St Petersburg Grand Prix. Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg - Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
March 28 - Salute to the Military Benefit Show. 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Held at 809 Gulf Way (enter on 10th Avenue), St Pete Beach. The show is open to all makes and models, is limited to the first 100 vehicles, and includes 118 total awards, food and beverage available, street fair with live entertainment, and more. March 29 – All British Field Meet…A Gathering of Friends. 10 AM to 2 PM Sponsored by the Nature Coast English Car Club. 3121 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. No registration fee, No Judging, No Awards…Just a Good Time.

April 4 - Tierra Verde Car and Truck Show. 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. April 15 - Cherokee, NC. - Peace Love Mini - Mini 56. We're going back to the amazing twisty roads around Cherokee, North Carolina. The theme is 60's Hippie!! Located at the south entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and at the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway we will be based within the beautiful mountains with amazing roads. As with all of our CMU events, we like to drive, and that's what we'll be doing. We will have drives each of the three days with plenty of stops and things to see. Friday night will be the Hippie party with the swap meet and silent auction. The Campground and hotel fill up fast so go to the club website and get all of the information. As with all of our events, this is for everybody, but all of the drives/cruises/anything is only for classic Minis and its variants produced from 1959-2000, no exceptions. June 5-6 -Louisville, KY. - 31st Annual British Bash. Louisville, KY. – 31st Annual British Bash The British Bash is held on the shady grounds of the St. Joseph Children's Home. This is the 29th annual Bash, It is located at 2823 Frankfort Avenue Louisville. There is a children's play area with food and refreshments. Friday June 5th is a mixer for people to just mingle from 5pm till 9pm. Saturday June 6th starts with registration to begin at 9am and runs through 12pm. Judging will be from 12pm till 3pm. March 21 – Dupont Cars & Coffee has moved to the USF St Pete Campus for the Grand Prix. 140 7th Ave South, St Pete. 7 to 9 AM.
March 21 – Skipping Disney Road Rally. This route takes us through some of Old Florida across the middle of the state while completely avoiding the mouse. We’ll be starting Northeast of Tampa and ending in Lakeland after traveling through bits of Hillsborough, Lake, Orange and Polk Counties. Will be around 4 hours of drive time in total with a late morning start (so be sure to eat brunch or an early lunch, or bring a snack!) and ending with an early dinner at Harry’s in Lakeland. There will be some optional unpaved segments of this route for those who care to take interesting shortcuts. Plan on 10:30am until about 4:00pm, a little later if you’re planning to eat. (Harry’s has some good Cajun and Seafood!) The route begins on the South side of Dade City and ends in downtown Lakeland. Specifics will be emailed to entrants a few days before the event. Entry is limited to 30 cars max. So, if you really want to do this, don’t dawdle, get registered! The entry fee is $32 and you can at Registration | Rally FL NOTE: Entry fee increases to $42 the week of the event. Register by March 16 and save yourself $10!
March 22 - Tampa Bay British Car Clubs Burger Quest at Capogna's Dugout, 1653 Gulf-to-Bay, Clearwater 33756. Sunday at 1:30 PM and most people come early to get a good seat. Burger Quest for March is at Capogna’s Dugout in Clearwater. Come and join us for a good time at a long time Clearwater favorite restaurant. They will have an indoor section set aside for us with plenty of parking out front. They feature a ½ lb. burger that they want you to vote as ‘ best in the area’. Website: capognasdugout.com
March 22 - The Florida Suncoast MG Car Club has a special event on March 22 nd. Lunch at O’Keefe’s in Clearwater at noon and then the Bronx Wanderers show at the Capitol Theater, the show starts at 3 PM. April 15 - Cherokee, NC. - Peace Love Mini - Mini 56. We're going back to the amazing twisty roads around Cherokee, North Carolina. The theme is 60's Hippie!! Located at the south entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and at the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway we will be based within the beautiful mountains with amazing roads. As with all of our CMU events, we like to drive, and that's what we'll be doing. We will have drives each of the three days with plenty of stops and things to see. Friday night will be the Hippie party with the swap meet and silent auction. The Campground and hotel fill up fast so go to the club website and get all of the information. As with all of our events, this is for everybody, but all of the drives/cruises/anything is only for classic Minis and its variants produced from 1959-2000, no exceptions.
