Default widow trim cleaning?

All my window trim, around all windows, is oxidized. I've used a few different cleaners and techniques. I've considered some polish and steel wool, just worried about scratching it up real bad. Any advise?

I have found that using Meguiars tyre gel(the purple coloured stuff) in a small amount on a lint free cloth works an absolute treat.
It actually brings them back like new and is long lasting.
Try it, if you think it is no good, you can always use it on your tyres.
