2013 Cars & Coffee, Great Falls, VA - Katie's
The first Katie's of June brought out several vehicles we (at least, I) had not seen before... Several Jaguars we had seen before, too. We even had two F-Types (one driven by a Jag of America employee, visiting from NJ).

Another good Saturday in Great Falls. Some nice Jags in attendance, too.
When I hear someone say they have a Corvette Pace Car, I figure it's one of the many decal 'specials' Chevy has put out over the years. We had the ACTUAL pace car & safety car from the 2003 LeMans 24-hour race.

The weather couldn't have been better this morning - crystal clear, high 60's at 6:00AM.
I got to Katie's right at 6:00AM, and (predictably) wasn't the first. What was surprising was that the front lot filled up amazingly fast. We must have had 50 cars by about 6:20AM. When you get to an event that early, the cars had better be amazing... and they were.

I was there, too! But I got there at 7:10 and the lot was already completely full, so I parked in the back lot.
Next time I will either get there earlier, or get there around 8AM as between 7:30 and 8 it seems like some people start leaving (and others are still arriving). Of course, it's best to still get out by 9 as to not disrupt the businesses!

Some Saturdays, one car at Katie's is the obvious star of the show - we've had a Bugatti Veyron, a Saleen S7, a Scaglietti Corvette, and a Porsche Carrera GT each fill that role in the last year or so. Sometimes, like today, the depth of impressive cars is what makes it a special day.
Today:
It's hard to beat the simple beauty of the original Maserati Ghibli, and this navy-over-ivory example is perfect in my eyes. We also had two different models from a tiny firm - an Italia and an Apollo, both from Carrozzeria Intermecannica. The Italia has a 351 Ford V8, and the Apollo, the old Buick aluminum V8. We also had a Cunningham there today. Another special car there today was the Mercedes SLR McLaren.
All in all, a really good morning!

More from today, including a bumper crop of Jaguars!
I include comparison shots of the rear views of the V8S F-Type and the BMW Z8, since I think they are similar.

Overcast this morning, but at least it didn't rain. The questionable weather kept attendance down, but there were still some nice cars there.

A big day, with several Jaguars, including a couple we had not seen before.
Dave R. had the E-Type he recently bought & had restored. Jeff O. had his V12 E-Type.

OK, we'll get this out of the way first - there was another Veyron at Katie's today. Not a VW of America vehicle, this one is privately owned, with foreign plates. The car has 'presence', but I'd hesitate to call it beautiful. An impressive piece of engineering.
