Broken hood release cable

Broken hood release cable
Got the hood open by yanking out the mesh and fiddling with the locks. right lock has sensor which blocked the latch so worked it off. Removed the wheel liner, found cable but it disappears. Looks like it's behind washer well. Cable is riveted to frame at front. Any suggestions before diy surgery on this. Absolutely no info, specs, diagrams or charts on-line. Thanks. DW
