I'm back in Virginia for school. Just thought I'd start up another thread to see who all is up here.

:bump:

How about a Happy Hour meet soon? Tysons Corner or Shirlington or Fairfax? Parking lot and decent food/drink?

I'm a little late on noticing this- but I'm sure I could arrange to have some free time for a meet. I'm almost done for the summer.

03 S, you know where I am. If you ever need any more help, don't be afraid to hollar. Get any more word about the brake noise issue that we were dealing with?

Thermo,

I took it in to the brake shop the other day. They said something on the hardware was backwards- I'm guessing maybe the indicator on the drivers side was backwards. Anyway they replaced it and it reduced the noise A LOT. The only bad side was that the one drivers side brake pad was already damaged. I'm riding it as it is to see if it's going to balance out and go silent- but for now it makes a slight noise at certain brake points. For the most part though its almost completely silent. If it doesn't go away in a month or two I'll switch to hopefully my last set of pads for a while. Cross your fingers!!!

Oh yeah and another update- somehow I ended up getting an amp and sub on impulse installed. 700 watt amp and sub combo. I blew the first sub and had to have it replaced though so I may up to a 1000 watt peak capacity Pioneer sub. I'd go for perhaps a JL Audio- but I'm getting my new sub pretty much for free.

When I looked at the pads, I couldn't see where there was a difference between the inner and outer pads. BUt, if they switched things around and it made the noise go away, then great. I guess I will have to look at the pads really close the next time I have my pads off and see if I have the same sort of issue. Granted, from listening to you talk, there's a lot of S-Type owners that are making the same mistake then and therefore leads me to believe that the differences are very slight.

Well its possible they just said something to get rid of me. But it DEFINITELY got quieter so I won't complain. Its possible they just bent those indicators and sent me on my way. I didn't see any noticeable difference in the pads either. If it doesn't go away I'll be looking for some ceramics. I hear some people buy a good set of pads and problem solved. My pads are kinda cheap I have I suppose.
