Being you're in Springfield, MO I would contact either the K.C. Chapter of the Jaguar Club or the St. Louis chapter and ask them if they have any members in your area and if you can email or call them. You can do the same with any British Car club around there, just google say the MG Club of Springfield, MO or Triumph, etc. They would be your best bet.
Here's the links for the K.C. and St. Louis Jag clubs.

Hope this helps. If not, I have a great guy in St. Louis.

St. Louis Cars & Coffee
I'm in St. Louis in the central west end. For you St. Louis guys, there is a Saturday morning cars & coffee at the Starbucks in Rockhill on Manchester Rd. It's once per month from April through October. The first one this year is April 20. Always some nice Jags there and it's a fun thing to do on Saturday morning.

Live in KC, 10 minutes south of KCI.
Hi Blaze,
We live in KC, MO, near Gladstone, MO. Seems like you asked the right question, as you are getting many responses.
We are the newest owners of a 2000 Jaguar XK8; bought it through the recent Mecom Auto Auction in KC.
Outside and motor great, but the inside needs to serious TLC, and the soft top deployment operation is in need of some serious help. We bought it as a project car and already are having fun driving it, fixing a few items, and planning out the next restore item purchase - the covertible to work with the deployment button/switch.
Hope to see you around!

I would take it to and autoparts store, KMart garage, or Sears garage and ask them to do a quick check on the battery. It does not take much to effect the cranking power of the battery, especially with starting problems; especially a V8.
Example for free check: Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, PepBoys, etc...no need to remove battery, just drive up and ask them to check your battery.

Cigar Smoker, Happily Guilty as Charged!
My favorite cigar store and smoking location is The Outlaw Cigar Store, which has two great stores in the Kansas City Area; one located at 6234 N. Chatham Avenue, KC, MO 64151, near the MCI airport (my favorite) and the other one is down south at 13700 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66223. The have a great website (www.outlawcigar.com) and host several great ongoing cigar parties. A great place for pipe smokers, too!
