Anyone in Missouri?
Welcome Kitty I have a 2004 XK8 and I'm from St. Louis
To all Midwestern Jaguar owners, just a reminder of this weekends Annual All British Car Show. There is a pre-show at the Zona Rosa Shopping Center today, Saturday, August 30. British car owners will park their cars around the Zona Rosa Square. The real show is on Sunday, August 31; with cars arriving after 8:00 am, at the Zona Rosa Shopping Center. It is located south of the MCI airport, off Highway 29, take the Barry Road exit - west, right on Congress Ave, right on 2nd turn-in, left for parking garage, 2nd Level. All cars will be displayed in the parking lot structure, 2nd level, next to the Dillard's store.
Just purchased a 1997 XK8 in August with 98,000 miles. We're in Pomona, halfway between Willow Springs and West Plains. Will have a few things to do before it becomes a reliable driver. I see we have a Jag in Mansfield, only about an hour away. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic close by?
welcome rp!
I have found my regular mechanic to be fine on the Jag for general needs (brakes, mounts, A/C, installations of parts). However ECU diagnoses are the tricky part. Import Specialists of Springfield specialize in Jag & Beemer & ive found them friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Also, when the PARTs hard to find and/or outrageously priced (& they often are!), they will try to find you good quality used and/or refurbed.
I think Growlrr has had luck with Springfield Imports? is that right, Growlrr?

Thanks Mfieldpreecher for the info, will add Import Specialists to my file. I plan on doing a lot of the engine work but haven't a clue on the some of the other systems like the transmission. Having the right tools is also a shortcoming.
Hi missouri folk! I'm south of ozark mo about halfway between Springfield and Branson. Just got my 95' a couple of months ago. I also have a local guy that does work on Jags and other imports from his home garage. Only charges parts + $45 hr labor. Let me know if you need work done and I'll hook you up.
Looks like we have options in Southwest MO. Live in Hollister and you can see my Jags in my signature. Also have a great Jag mechanic in Branson. Nice to have so many options. Welcome everyone.
I'm just outside Springfield, MO. Co-founder of Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club. Started it in 1999, since we all seemed to belong to clubs 200 miles away at the time. Membership is open to all who have an interest in the preservation and enjoyment of British Motor Vehicles. We meet monthly, have several drives and tech sessions as well, and host the GOBMC All British Car and Cycle Meet every July in Carthage, MO. Our membership is very diverse, so, if your car was made in Great Britain or was influenced from such (we have several new Mini's in the club as well), you're invited to come hang out with us. gobmc.org

I came here this a.m. to post almost the same thing that Rod just posted regarding the Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club. Well, you just heard from Rod as one of the co-founders of the Club. Well, I am the newest member of the club, having joined in January. As you can see in my signature, I have two Jaguars and there are others with Jags in the club, as well. Come join us for a great time and enjoy the love of British cars and the Club comaraderie. We meet every month and have many activities. Come check us out at gobmc.org

I'm having hip replacement surgery in a couple of weeks, so I will temporarily be down. I may try to come to the GOBMC April or May meeting. I've been following your club for a couple of years and looks like it's a lot of fun!
I'm sort of looking around again for a 2003-2006 XKR 'vert. I miss the one that I sold last year (because of my hip problems)...Should have kept it. Oh well, there's another one, somewhere out there, just waiting to seduce me and my wallet!
Cheers!
Jon
