South side of Milwaukee, but make the treck past Great America and Gurnee Mills often on my way to O'Hare or Midway. Damn airlines make it way too expensive to fly out of Milwaukee, but at least 294 is better with some of the construction done.

Hi Alfadude! I lived up in Kenosha for a while- use to visit Milwaukee often. Always made the trip to Summer Fest too!! What a good time - I love Summer Fest.

Hope your weather is good today...here in the lower midwest, it's a "thank God we made it" kind of day.

Summerfest is one of the best things anyone could do in the summer. Nice grounds, reasonably priced, great food and music for every taste. Safe, clean and they have bathrooms all over. Oh, and you can buy beer all over the place. Man, the bands I have seen over the years. Everyone should get there at least once. I was at the Austin City Limits festival last year and although that was fun, there is no way it was as good as Summerfest.

If anyone out there is looking for a good road trip in the summer I can hughly recommend it. Here is the link: http://www.summerfest.com/flash/#

That looks like a kick butt time if I'm still in country I'm going to have to spend a few days down there

Alfadude is right Armyjag... there is no other place like it. I wanna say there is like 11 stages with different bands playing all day long. There is music for every taste. There is a ton of food and drinks.... tons of beer for sure! lol At night they have the Marcus Ampitheater which has big name bands & artists of today but you have to purchase the tickets separately for that. But the free stages at night have alot of great bands of the past too. I have seen Whitesnake on the free stages and John Waite and 38. Special to name a few. REO speedwagon has played there, Earth wind & fire and the list goes on. It's really an all day event and it's the best time. Actually Armyjag- you are only about an hour away from Milwaukee. You should check it out! This year it runs June 25- July 5th. Check out the link that Alfadude posted! : )
