Default Indie Shop - Greater Minneapolis

Hey Guys;

Can anyone living in or around the Minneapolis area offer a recommendation to a local Indie Shop that has a solid reputation for working on Jags?

I've located a couple of shops, but anyone with firsthand experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!!

I've taken several Jags to Top Gear on Cedar Ave. Dave is the owner and used to work as a mechanic at the dealer. His shop caters to all European luxury and exotic marques. He has saved me thousands of dollars on a 2004 XJ8 transmission issue and handled one of my previous X-Types. Also, I discovered a Jag specialist in St Louis Park that I am going to try for some suspension and windshield washer repairs in a week or two.

I have used DJ Foreign Auto at times and they have been fine.

Default Woodbury option

I have used Metric Auto in Woodbury several times and very pleased with their work. They work on high end European autos specializing in BMW's and Merc's, but so far they have done transmission service and general maint on my 08 XK coupe with very good results.

Jeff Flynn at Special Interest Auto Service has been great. When I was in his shop the other day there were 5 vintage E-types, a couple XJS convertibles and some Rolls Royces. I needed only a minor repair and he was able to have me pull right in and fix it while I waited. In addition to British cars, they do Italian too.

Default Newbie with 2008 XKR, Who is best Twin Cities option?

I just purchased a 2008 XKR that will need some attention. Which places in Twin Cities area are best bets for both routine and more serious issues?

Hi Friends,

Looks like the weather is finally ready to turn in Minnesota. Resurfacing this question to see if anyone has recommendations on reliable reasonable Indy shops in our area.

I’ve found a friend of a friend who is starting up and learning on the fly, but he’s 45 min from my house on the east side.

Anyone ever dealt with Hudson Auto Center in Hudson, WI?

Also, how many of you are in the Jag Club? I just got my XK8 in the fall and I’m thinking this could be a great way to tap into the hidden knowledge of other members.

Hope you all had a safe winter.

Maybe worth the drive if the guy knows what he's doing & is honest.
