I just purchased a 1998 XK8, I have a leak somewhere in the hydraulic system for controlling the top. Since I just purchased the car I would like to use it a few weeks before I start tearing the interior out of it to find and fix the leak. What I am wondering is would I be doing car any damage by putting the top down manually and leaving it down. Just to enjoy the car for a period of time I knew the car had a problem when I bought it but did not know how extensive the fix would be. Thank you in advance

 

I leave my top down most of the time with no issue
