Smile North Central Illinois

Hello! I just became the proud owner of a lovely 2001 S -Type 4.0, anthracite exterior, black leather interior with wood trim. I'm located just a bit north of Rockford, IL and am interested in learning about my Jaguar and possibly joining a club. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

It isn't an a Jaguar only club, but for all British cars, but you can try Boots and Bonnets in Rockford.

Congratulations! I worked for Jaguar Cars Ltd UK (at their engineering centre) , for 10 years as an engineer and had some involvement in the S type. This doesn't mean I have a lot of experience working on them (I have more experience working on the XJs).

I now live in southern Wisconsin.

The S type is incredible value for money!

Thank you! I was always a bit of a "car girl" with American models - early 70's muscle cars. I've wanted a Jaguar for as long as I can remember - saw one in a spy movie years ago and fell in love, but never thought it was attainable. Found this little lovely and bought as a birthday present to me! I am amazed at how well made my Jaguar is, and all the cutting-edge technology that is just now becoming standard in most vehicles. Oh, and she's an absolute joy to drive!

There aren't many Jag's in the Rockford area, it's nice to see someone else on here from the area! I'm in the process of maybe adding a classic to my garage, but it's hard to find anything not salt eaten around here.
Great car! You should check out some of the area car shows if you don't already, you'd be surprised of the amount of classic and antique cars there are in the area.

Actually, I've seen several Jags in Rockford just driving to work each morning. Granted, classic Jags don't come out to play when the weather is nasty. And we joined the local British car club and met some Jag owners. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who refers to my car as a feline. The weather and road conditions in winter do take a toll - I just replaced all four struts in the last 4 months, but now she's tucked away for hibernation.

I found my car online - you'd be surprised what's out there. Good hunting!
