Wondering whether anyone has any suggestions for a mechanic/shop in the north /northwest chicago/suburban area that is confident and skilled enough to work on an XJS. Looking for just basic and preventative maintenance.

Last place I went to didn't even know how to open/close the hood and ended up bending and ultimately replacing the hood fasteners, due to the uique XJS hood operation.

THe few places that I have inquired about have either said nope, or that they are "willing to learn." While there are Jag dealers available, I am trying to avoid dealer pricing.

If not too far away, you might try Becker Service Center in Naperville. I've had good experiences with them. The last time I was there they had two other XK8's in the shop.
