Cool Anyone from Pittsburgh, PA?

Hi,

I’m not exactly a new member but haven’t posted much. I got my Dealer Select 2014 XF 3.0 awd in 2015 with12,000 miles on it. It now sports 34,000+ miles and has more than a few dings (I fix the dents and scrapes). I would love to get to know other Jaguar owners/enthusiasts in the area. I live in Shadyside.

Peter (don’t let my user name fool you).

Hi Peter, we are in Latrobe, new owners of a 2006 XKR. I know its older than yours but there is a is a personal reason and prefererence for that. Good to see someone from our area on this forum, I would think that with all the Jaguars being sold now that more owners would be here. Thanks for posting.

I'm from Squirrel Hill! Lived there for 20 years but just moved to Philly a few years ago. I buy and sell cars for collectors and have also started a side business selling replicas. This is our Jaguar XKSS now in CA and ready for its new owner. I will post it in classifieds.

If you visit Philadelphia give me a holler and I will give you a tour of the Simeone Automotive Museum. I used to be a docent in my spare time.

Hey guys,

I just joined the forum, I'm in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh.
I'm now the proud owner of a 2014 F-type V8S, I'm starting to see more Jaguars & Range Rovers in the area now that we have a 'local' dealership most being SUV's of course.

Hi everyone, we spend winter in Fl. and will be back in April. I can hardly wait to get back. Down here there have not been many car shows due to the dreaded virus so I can hardly wait to see what happens this spring at home with shows. Hopefully things will open up again and we can return to taking trips and go to shows. God bless you!

I'm in the South Hills as well and have two Jags: a 1998 XK8 and a 2017 BDE F-Type.

Hey!
Whom do you recommend for quality, reasonably priced non-dealership mechanic work in the Pittsburgh area? The closer to the Airport, the better. 2018 F Pace Portofino is the patient.

In the few years I have owned my Jag the only time it has gone to a dealer is when I first purchased it. I needed a second key made for safety reasons. This became a three week adventure with the dealer because the car was 20 years old and no one at the Jag dealer knew how to program a new key. After that travail I decided not to go back. As an aside I had been a mechanic at that same Jag dealer in 1969 - 1970. Their attitude is still the same. I do all that is needed myself.

HI: I have a '98 XK8 and have been trying for some time to get a second key & fob made. The dealership (Rahal) urged me not to do it because they've had bad experiences in the past which lead to expensive replacements for the security system. Did you ever get your key made successfully? Got any tips? Thanks!

BTW: the guy I trust for serious work on my Jags is Jimmy Boffo up in Beaver. He did a great job replacing the timing chain/guides/tensioner/seals on my '98.
