Rhode Island - 1997 VDP - Best riding car I've ever owned. It's for sale and put away for the winter... but I need to sell her before spring and I start to drive her again ...because once I do I won't want to sell it again until next rotten winter.

Where going to be doing some pulley's and tunes once the weather breaks up in LI.. You may want to swing by for the fun.. Stay in touch with my pal, GPalace who is my contact. The date isn't set yet but hopefully soon if mother nature would let up and allow spring to come...

Now that sounds awesome!! I have a 98 XJR, but am unsure as to what pulley to get to maximize horsepower, and am not confident enough in my DIY abilities to take that on. If I were to make that meet, would I buy the pulley first and then bring it to the meet? Any ideas what I should be buying for my car and what kind of hp gains I could expect?

You would need to purchase a pulley 1st but with your model, I'm sure HP could be awesome. I'm not sure about how much HP but there's an ton of threads on the subject.. From what I've been hearing, you won't be unhappy..

Thank you friend. I will do my absolute best to make this meet. IVe been researching pulleys for my car, but cant come up with one that Im really comfortable with as it seems most of them also require machining of existing parts of the engine. It seems an upper and lower upgraded pulley will net the most dramatic gains, but theyre expensive and require a lot of work to properly install, including said machining. IF anyone can recommend a straight bolt on lower, please do let me know. TIA

Default Finally driving my "new" 2009 XJ

Hey Neighbors!
Central Connecticut here. With the recent thaw and sunny, over-40-degree days, I have been thoroughly enjoying my just-purchased Vapour Grey 2009 XJ. I drove her down to Foxwoods Casino this past weekend, and she performed flawlessly whilst drawing lots of positive attention.
She is covered by the Jaguar Select Certified Warranty program until next April (2016). Any suggestions on a local mechanic willing to go through the car with me to see if anything is out of place? Thanks, everyone!

Hi: welcome the the world of Jaguar ownership.
You may want to post on the current models XJ (X351) forum and your question may get more notice.
Yesterday morning at this time I took out my 2012 XJL-Portfolio for a 35 mile drive and then brought her back home to the garage. Got a lot of looks too.
Hope to see you on the other forum.

Welcome JagKat. Glad you're registered because there are many, many contributors to this Jaguar forum.
Go also to the current model forum link for XJ (X351) and you'll get more information.

JagKat may want to hit the x308 forum.

The x308 is one of the best (sleek, sexy and eye catching) forms that Jaguar ever produced. Well, other than the E, D & the XK120 on.

Just sayin'.

Hi All, just wanted to say hello from central jersey, and thank you all for the info contributed to this forum. I have been shopping on and off for the right XK for some time, and often used this site as a resource. I finally found/ purchased a beautiful 2007 XKR last week... And I am sure I will continue to benefit from the experience and knowledge on here.
