I just purchased a 2001 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 with 84,500 miles! I've been ready this forum over the last few days as I pondered over making this decision, and have gotten a wealth of information from a lot of different threads on here. This is my first car so I'm super excited!


My Jag needs some work, and I have a few questions!

What's the best way to clean/attempt to restore the leather?

I need a new driver's door handle (the outside handle), and I was quoted $179 by the Manhattan Dealership... I haven't been able to find anything on ebay... where else can I look?

What's the best way to hook up my iPod to the factory stereo? I don't like the way the cassette adapter sounds...!

I still have not been able to locate the door handle through other channels, so I may have to bite the bullet and actually order it from the dealership :-(.

Also, the car only came with one key & remote. I want to order an extra set, but I hear they have to be programmed at the dealership. Does anyone know how much that runs? Also, does the key that has the fob integrated (aka with the pop-up key, see picture, mine is plain key with a remote) work for the 2001 model? These look more convenient and they are cheaper on ebay than having to order a remote and a key seperately.
