Default What to do with project XKRs?

I posted in the new member forum, but since they are CT cars, I am assisting a gentleman in finding new homes for his XKRs

They are both projects.

Are these cars even "restorable"? Or, do most people consider it a lost cause where you'll end up upside down by a lot, and not worth it?

2002's with sub 100K miles, but lots of faults, paint issues, body issues, non original wheels, headliner sag, etc.

Any help greatly appreciated here, as my advice to him at the moment is call a junk yard and sell them for $1K a piece for their catalytic converters and good body parts.

Thanks!

Yeah, this is what I do ..restore Jags in similar condition, but there are certainly limits and for everything there is a fair price. That being said, hard to say one way or the other without more specific info and pics. Timing is a bit off for me, but once I get my latest 2 finished up, I'm actually looking to get an XKR.

Hate to see them go to the scrapper!
Just from your pictures I don't see any flapping fenders from rust either?
Hope that someone on the forum is looking for an XKR or two.

Good luck and thanks for the pictures.
That XKR with the red stripes? I wonder if it might have had some mods done to it?

They both have some mods I believe. Obviously the wheels, but the non striped one has a coil suspension conversion (these had air, correct?)

No air. It's on coils from the factory. Maybe has an after market coil over setup? I have seen people do that.
