Default 2003 Jaguar X-Type (Engine Dead) Help?

Hi guys,

I'm in Redmond, WA. My 2003 Jaguar X-Type's engine is done for it. Now I'm trying to get rid of this vehicle. Does anybody here have any ideas so I don't have to take a complete loss on it?

Can I sell it for parts? Would anybody be interested in buying it and giving it a new engine?

Not sure what to do with it at the moment. Overall the body and interior is fine it's just the engine is dead.

Does anybody here know of anybody that could fix it? So far I've contacted 5 shops that used to work on the Jags but not any longer. I'm new to the area so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kenan

I have yet to joint the Seattle Jaguar Club, but you might look into their web site to see if they have a classifieds section, or if they print a news letter it may have one... Just tossing ideas....

Yeah, it seems like its pointless. No difference than speaking to dealership, they want to put a new jaguar engine in the car. It costs more than the actual car, I'll have to cut my losses with the Jaguar. First and last time for sure. Thanks for the help guys.

Sorry to hear it.
I don't know if your car has "parting" value (I'm kinda new to the whole Jag world myself so I know very little of the models/troubles/value of any series but the one I own).
This forum has a classified section you might put feelers out in... A hauler wont give you squat, but if you are willing to turn a wrench and ship stuff you may see a few hundred back before giving them a call.

Take care, and best of luck...

I mean if you want to just get rid of it I know a guy (myself) that would GLADLY take it off your hands. I'm sure you want some money though, which I have none of so...

Used engines are out of the question?
And, what's "dead"?
Rod hanging out the side of the block?
Does it turn over?
