Looks good. I'll be down, probably alone. My wife is going on a Jag run to Whistler with me the week before, but i suspect this run will be too long for her.

I have driven the Chumstick route. It is a pleasant enough drive with low traffic through the cherry orchards, but lacks the scenery of Tumwater Canyon on Hwy 2. I don't recall anything on Chumstick worth stopping for.

I agree about the XXX. The root beer was superb, but the food was overpriced and unremarkable. There will be three of us in the car this time and I fear Andreas Keller in Leavenworth will "eat up" most of my dining budget, so would settle for upscale fast food in Issaquah. Perhaps Fatburger (better and cheaper burgers than XXX, and they have a nice beer selection for those inclined). If the nearby Krispy Kreme has the light on, dessert could be had as well. No way I let those messy doughnuts inside my Jag, though.

Maybe next year we can get an earlier start or have fewer stops and have time to see Ohme Gardens in North Wenatchee or the Aplets & Cotlets factory in Cashmere. Leavenworth is just the start of interesting things in that valley.

If peeps like Chinese food, there is an excellent place in Issaquah that makes their own shaved noodles. My kids prefer it to almost everything else, and I can feed the whole family for 45 bucks or so.

I could do Chinese (yum), but would rather have a "Meat and Potatoes and Beer venue"
What does anyone know about Stans BBQ? (rates "OK" on Urbanspoon).

Possibly Pizza?

It's decent BBQ.

There's also a pub across the street from the library that's OK (It's a Rogue Brewery) or we can go big by hitting up Jak's Steaks.

Also, are we opening this up to non-Jaaaags?

I'm looking for cost control, and options that cater to a large group. BBQ is known for that, as is Pizza or burgers. We need a large sitting area where we can all eat, chat and relax.

As for non-Jaaaags, it is not my place to make that call, it is the groups. I don't represent or coordinate the PNW region any more.
However, this has been all Jags in the past.

I'm open to non-jag participants as long as it doesn't negate the jag-theme of the event. Marko will be bringing his Porsche, for instance. More drivers = More fun, but if the jags start to become a minority it won't be a special event anymore. Certainly friends of jag-participants should be welcome to join. We can always take pics of the jags by themselves if we want.

(Rolls Royces are welcome everywhere! )

Sorry about the mistakes. I'll proofread better next time. Maybe I can post up a corrected version later.

The pub is decent. Service can be hit or miss depending on who's on, but I've never had the horrid service that some complain about.

I probably will have a friend coming along. Not sure what he'll drive, as he has a couple of choices, but it'll be fun.

That is kinda my thought.
I'm not in a position to be extraordinarily snooty, but even the draw of attention our cars got last year by Leavenworths' finest was a pleasure.
We were greeted with comments like "Let us know next time... Maybe we can clear parking spaces downtown for you."
Made me proud to be part of such an exclusive group! (Not sure a mixed bag of brands ever got that offer from LEO...)

I am for remaining Jag focused, but feel tag-alongs can happen as long as they understand it is a JAGUAR gathering and respect the event and our owners accordingly.

2cents

My friend Steve ("XKRRRR") who joined us on our Hood Canal drive may be coming with his 505hp 5.0L XKR. He has a conflict but is trying to work it out.

Still, we seem to have a large group of XKs, and so few of the other wonderful models be represented... What up with that?

Good. I had to drive the Jag to Portland last week and it's a little dirty. If it's raining, I don't have to squeeze in a full detail prior to next Saturday!
