Grrrr
Ive been holding off on installing my new rear tires because every weekend has been dry since I bought them! (something like 5 weeks now).

Guess it might be time to haul them down to the shop and have them mounted.... Sigh

Mine's nice and shiny for the Whistler drive tomorrow, but maybe not so much for Leavenworth, we'll have to see what the weather does.

Hit an interesting snag talking to Andrea Kellers. Seems they no longer take reservations, and are now first come first served. No big deal but for the fact we are driving on the day of the Autumn Leaf Festival!

I was told they have seen up to 3 hour waits, and recommend we get someone in the door (they open at 11:30) ASAP.

I stressed my concerns as strongly as I could, indicating a 3 hour wait would be incompatible with our event and timing. She did her best to assure me they would try to accommodate us as quickly as possible considering our numbers, but she had no control over the new rules.

My thought at this point is to get someone in the door ASAP, while other browse the shops and event stuff?

Other ideas or input?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they're THAT busy, there are a couple of other places we can go that have atmosphere too. Weather is showing rain mid-week, but clearing for weekend again. We may well luck out with one more nice weekend before everything rains up for the winter.

I agree, another venue would be fine. I really enjoyed last years drive, but the day is long enough as it is for me, and an extended lunch break won't help.

We can always try Andrea's and make the decision then.

Cool!
Swimref tells me Steve will likely be a no - show. Family matters trump the drive.....

Default Seattle Drive

I'm coming from Seattle, does this have a starting end point? If it started West of the mountains I would be game. Driving out to leavenworth is a little far.

Well as it turns out the cats have all lined up so I will be coming in from Canmore Alberta.
I will probably meet up with ya'll for lunch in Leavenworth all being well and join in for the run back to Seattle.
Keep your eye open for a black cat prowling around Leavenworth looking for a meal.
Turns out my daughter is also playing volleyball at SPU at 7:30 Saturday night so I have double the reason to head in that direction. Be great to see you all again.
Any idea where you will be having lunch?

Allan

Starts in Monroe. See Muddydog's .pdf file for the details.

Welcome LoudInSeattle! It would be great to have you along!
It is a full day event, and not intended to be high paced... Just a nice day drive.
We meet at the Safeway in Monroe at 8:30, and depart for Leavenworth at 9ish. Arrival for lunch is around 12:00-12:30. After that we return via I-90 to Issiquah for a parting dinner.
Check out the PDF posted by Muddydog in post 18 for full maps and details.
If the full day drive is not to your liking, then please feel free to show up at Monroe and drive with us as far as you like! The Jag family is a great group of owners and I know you will enjoy the camaraderie!

Great news Growler!
Have your FRS set to channel 4, and my cell number handy! We should hit Leavenworth anywhere from 12:00 to 12:30, and park at the same spot this year as we did last year (I hope!).
We will try for Andrea Kellers again if we can get in the door.

It will be my first! I'm a young buck, my 2009 XK is my first car. I visited Jag of Lynnwood for my first oil change and heard about the group. I look forward to meeting everyone! Not tentative, I'll be there.

Maybe the nice policeman from last year will parade us into town and find us a spot we can all park together like he said he would!

Default Walkies

I was going to run out to best buy and grab a walkie talkie - does anyone have a loaner before I go buy one?

They come in sets of two, so potentially everyone will have a loaner for you! I will, at any rate. No worries.

Cool Almost there!

Well today turned out to be pretty. Here's hoping it holds out for a little more sunshine before we close out our driving season with our Leavenworth Rally!

I'm attaching the handout again to this post because it's getting buried in the thread. If you don't want to read it all the way through the most important thing you need to know is Safeway, Monroe, 8:30AM! The only way we really know who's going is to see who's there by the time we leave at 9:00, so don't be left behind.

Yes, the FRS radios are a lot of fun and allow us to jabber or listen to others do so. In a group of 10 or more the middle cars may need to relay important messages between the front and rear cars. It helps if everyone has one, but some people choose to forego the distraction, and that's OK, too. There likely will be 2 or 3 of us with extras to share. I bought the mid-range model at Best Buy a couple of years ago and they've worked fine for our purposes, although the batteries tend to die by the end of the day.

See you all on Saturday!

And to the Gold XK8/R that waved to me on I-90 today:
