Here's my two cents worth (two cents Canadian, at that)- the shorter route appeals because it allows more time for socializing at the end. I'm looking at 2 hours from Edmonds to home, so it's a long day either way, but I'd rather not push it. However, I am only one voice in the wind.................

But it's a Canadian voice, so it's assumed to be intelligent and reasonable

I'll watch the Saturday ferries this weekend and see how they go. They have been filling up occasionally in the late mornings, but I think the 7:55 will have extra spots. Pulling in with four minutes to spare (as I just did 12 minutes ago) is never recommended, but i would bet a 7:35 target arrival will get you on board with a little extra buffer.

Why don't we shoot for the 8:50 ferry (9:15 arrival). Depart Kingston at 9:30 from McD's (bathrooms, gas station next door) and drive for 4 hours. back in time for a late lunch and get Rob back on the road at a decent time.

8:50 sounds more reasonable...........I'm in, barring any last minute issues.

It looks like the ferries are filling up this Saturday, hitting 90% capacity about 5 minutes before departure, so getting there a little early would be prudent. I'd suggest 8:30 to be safe. You can monitor ferry traffic here:

Edmonds Terminal

For any who may join us but aren't familiar with the Edmonds ferry, you have to approach the terminal from Hwy 104. I've attached a map from I5. Follow the signs once you are there-it's pretty well marked. It costs $13.55 plus $7.85 for any additional passengers.

There's only one road out of Kingston, so follow the traffic as you get off the ferry and McDonalds and an Arco gas station will be on your left about 1/2 mile up the road.

Getting excited! We need a new face or two! Come-on newbies, jump on this!

As Muddy points out, this is the easiest by following 104 from I-5

This alternate route is a tad trickier once in Edmonds, as you have to actually pass by the ferry terminal, circle around, and approach the loading lanes via 104.

It would be great to see a few new faces join us. As of last year, I think we proved to many that this is a great venue! Jag owners are a fun yet mature group (well except me, who may be old but still act half my age)
The camaraderie and friendships are very quick to form, and you don't need a "show quality" Cat to attend! Just hose her off , fill up the tires and tank and join us wont you?

Yes folks, it's a fun and casual group. Come on out, any Jag, any shape, any year, we're happy to see you. I'll be crossing the border (176th Street) at 0615, then I-5 all the way.

Well, sent out over 50 invites, and am still holding hopes that one or two were waiting to see what kind of weather we would get! Right now it is shaping up to be a great day for an afternoon drive!

I have not heard back from Swimref about the later time change yet, so I may have to give him a call, but I think we have pretty much called it as a 9:30 gathering in Kingston (8:50 boat leaving Edmonds)

As always, make sure to arrive with tires full of air, and a tank full of gas!... Oh and FRS radios fully charged!
I have a few old radios I can loan out if needed, but I heard a lot of complaining (poor sound quality) about them last drive, so they are what they are.

Also of note is the heavy "Distracted driver" patrols going on this weekend, and according to my officers, yes the walkie-talkies count! Grrrrr...

Anyhow, looking forward to Saturday!

-Peace

Sorry, I've been buried in busy. Yes, the revised start time is perfect, I'm looking forward to it, and will check tires in advance this time and bring fresh batteries for the illegal communication devices.

It's still looking like it might actually be sunny on Saturday. I'm thinking some burgers and brauts on the grill would be good for an after-drive snack. Does that sound good to everyone? Something easy and casual that's not affected by our notoriously variable return times.

I saw Marko is headed to the season opener of Exotics so our token Porsche will be absent, but I'm surprised we don't have at least a few more drivers out on such a pretty weekend.
