August 2nd - St Helens
So limited interest in St Helens set me on my ear for July...
I will give it one more attempt. Saturday August 2nd.
Starting from Enumclaw 9AM, to Windy Ridge then back through Morton.
Oregon members can meet us in Randle (11:30) for the trek up mountain.
It would be great to see a few more Cats than the previous year so clear your calender for the day, grab the family, and join in!

Thanks for the catch Swimref I corrected it to Morton! Glad the date may work for you, and I hope I have not angered others with the july bail. I hope to see more than a few Cats make it....

That is pretty darned far, probably too much for me. The roundtrip would be close to 1,000 km, 600 miles.
Growler made the one last year, but he spent the night down here for an easy start.... If I recall, he headed for home afterwards, but made it somewhere north of Seattle before bagging it for the night.
Not an easy run, but if the weather is good, it is an amazing drive.

Unfortunately, I am no longer in. I am writing to you this evening from my hospital bed at Swedish on First Hill in Seattle. I have acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL, APML) and was admitted today and am receiving the first session of chemotherapy this evening as I write this. They expect that my inpatient stay will be a month or more. This type of leukemia is quite rare and very tricky to treat, so they had to send me down to Swedish on First Hill where they have experience with it.
This came on extremely suddenly and strongly without warning. In fact I still do not really have any symptoms except sudden weight loss and heavy bruising/internal bleeding within the last week. I had a routine checkup 2 weeks ago where everything appeared normal until the lab results came back later showing a big problem with blood and bone marrow. Thank God I went to my routine checkup and did not postpone the appointment since it seemed unnecessary.
All prayers and/or good wishes gladly accepted. With any luck I'll still be able to make the Leavenworth run.

Holy crap....
Thankful indeed that you got the checkup when you did.
I have no knowledge of APL/APML until you mention it, and I read it is one of the more treatable forms of leukemia today! You have all my hopes and wishes that they nip this in the bud quickly and put you right as rain!
My wife has been battling CML for about 7 years now, so I can understand and have felt the fear the "C" word can evoke.
Trust me when I say that the fear will pass. Then the knowledge that it can be beat kicks in!
(Hint: Each smile, joke, and laugh puts you one step closer to getting well.)
You both know how to reach me if you need me,

With Swimref tied to a bed for a while, our St. Helens count has fallen down to just me....
As avt007 points out, the Jaguar gods can be cruel at times...
Time to double check with the wife and see if she really REALLY wants to keep our son... After all, a volcano is our destination!

12 days out, and zero Jags.... Seems my attempt at an Annual Jaguar Event is on the rocks.
For lack of interest, I may be forced to open this to all makes and models from the DriveTheNorthwest gang

I have now opened this drive to all makes and models (and was shot down....)
At this point I believe I have no choice but to cancel the event.

Kevin, I'm so sorry to hear you're in hospital (as any good Brit would say). I just now saw your post. All the best wishes and prayers from Chris and I, my friend! Better be up and about for Oktoberfest!
Thanks for the good wishes guys, I really appreciate it. I get chemotherapy twice a day, one of the two main parts is arsenic! Hopefully just enough to kill the cancer and not quite enough to kill me. I'm holding up pretty well but sometimes feel pretty sick. Yes Jay, I'm "in hospital" and to continue with British usage the doctors and "the sisters" are taking good care of me. I fully intend to be out of here and drive the Jag on the Leavenworth run one way or another.
