Can anyone recommend a good glass guy in the Portland/Longview area? My '85 XJ6 needs a new windscreen, and no one I've called (so far) will touch it. The list of excuses is quite varied though.

Wow, sorry no one has given you any ideas yet... I'm not from that area so I'm near worthless.

Have you tried the basic shops used by insurance companies (Safelite for one)?

Yes - I'd tried Safelite, Speedy Glass, and a couple of others. They're all gung-ho for doing the job... until they actually look the details of the job up, at which point they either won't do it or want an hourly rate rather than a job rate.

My existing windshield is cracked almost in half, but the seal is a) original and b) doesn't leak, so I'm not going to let just anyone loose on it.

 

Tried any of these? (Just playin with a web search, so take it for as little as it is worth)
