Default Octoberfest 13??

OK, so despite the crazy snow last year, I'm totally down to do it again this year. However, I can't do the first weekend in October -- it's the (believe it or not) Lego Convention downtown, and I'm part of the muscle behind the show. Also, I'd vote for it to not be the last weekend in October due to it being both the Halloween parties and late in the season. What about October 12 or 13?

I enjoyed this drive last year more than any other one I've been on, and found the snow added excitement without danger. I'm tied up both of the first weekends in October, so I really hope it would be possible on the 19th or perhaps Sept. 29th.

I am out of town October 5th. Very disappointed, as this means I will have to miss the LEGO convention.

October 19 is open for me. Sept 29 is a possibility.

Sep 28th or 29th is open for me...
October now makes me a tad nervous.... Cuts it close and watching weather for a possible fail. (Can't cross "Ol Blewett Pass" in bad weather!)

Reverse our route this time?

We could do Sept 28 or 29. I'd vote to NOT reverse the route. Snoqualmie is still likely to be better taken care of in the event of crazy weather. What we probably SHOULDN'T have done is stop for DQ last time. /chuckle Especially as it looked iffy. Regardless, we all got home safe, and it wasn't hairy enough to scare me from doing it again.

Iffy weather in September will only be tied to torential rains, which may hold back a few...
Nice part is that it almost always stays on this side of the Pass!

Regardless, I'm game!

But where else besides the Cle Elum Dairy Queen could we have seen a "Bentley" that rather suspiciously had the lines of a Chrysler 300?

Ahhhh the Oh-So-Rare Bentley 300..... Had forgotton about that glorious piece of .....craftmanship....

As far as the drive goes, I could do the 12th as well... But first choice is the 28th, second is the 29th, and third is the 12th...
(And yes, if weather is good I would like to consider Old Blewett Pass. It is paved(kinda), and can be safely driven slow!) Very scenic up there!)

I can't make Sept. 28, but the 29th is open. Oct. 19th is my next opportunity. I really don't want to miss this one. Old Blewett sounds adventurous and might be fun, but even "new Blewett" (which actually crosses Swauk Pass a few miles away from Blewett Pass) is a fun road we greatly enjoyed last year. Lunch in Leavenworth again is a must.

Right now it looks like the 29th is winning....
Should we call it?
I think the 12th or 19th of Oct would be a good safety if weather on the 29th fails....

hi guys I'm new to the forum....but I was wondering, how does one go about joining a drive like this or is it exclusive? and what are the routes? I'd rather ask and be informed rather than trying to tag along or over step my boundaries. thanks in advance

Clevername keeps the official book at his house and won't let anybody see it, but I believe the only rules are you have to have a Jag, and you have to like donuts. But the second one is negotiable

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!
By all means, Welcome!

Donuts negotiable?

Let me check the book on that one.........Ah.... no.... no they're not..

Anyhow glad to have you here Merv, and you are most welcome on any drive or gathering.
Our Pacific Northwest crew is still small and slowly growing. We have no "formal" process to just about anything we do.... Just several enthusiastic Jag owners that meet and drive....
Most times we try to roughly plan an event, yet flexibility has proven valuable because our plans don't always work.... well..... as planned.... Seems we all still have a great time amongst great company and great cars.

Our Leavenworth run will be our second, and I suspect similar to last years.
We meet in the morning for coffee and ...donuts.... Last time it was in Monroe. We then take Highway 2 across Stevens Pass to Leavenworth for Brats and a pint for lunch. After a short visit of the town, we return via Highway 97 and I-90 to the western side of the mountains where we can maybe discuss a parting dinner.
If time allows, I have a goat path to take you all on!

I'm in. But now I'm tempted to bring the Nissan or the Roller if we HAVE to have a Jaaaag.

On second thought, not the Roller. It'd have a hard time doing some of even the easy Shenanigans.

Don't expect too much Shenanigans on this run... I think we upped the pace last time out of necessity thanks to closed restrooms. Shouldn't be an issue in September.

I would love to drive Old Blewett, which was closed due to the big fires last time. The route is paved, scenic and historically interesting, but would require a casual and relaxed pace due to the brush encroachment and occasional rocks in the roadway. I certainly enjoyed it and had no difficulty navigating the Jag along the whole route.

I'm ordering commemorative window decals. If I add coffee mugs am I overdoing it?

*Edit: Rahtok, I really want to see you try and drive that Nissan in the snow

Still going for that "I'm with stupid (IE Clevername)" theme?

Honest, Blewett isn't that bad!
