Icefield Parkway between Banff and Jasper in Alberta Canada. A breathtaking 288 km drive through the Columbia Ice Field on Hwy 93 between the Yellowhead Hwy16 and Trans Canada Hwy Hwy 1.
Columbia Icefield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Parks Canada - Jasper National Park - Columbia Icefield Area and the Athabasca Glacier
Spectacular. The pix don't even come close to showing the overall scale of this amazing drive.
Start your trip at 6:00am or late afternoon for the best lighting.
Up and back in one day is the best as the morning and evening light and the direction you are driving makes it 2 entirely different trips.
Week days are best and before May 24 weekend if you can or in the fall for the amazing colors.
Next time it will be in my Jag.
Fill your boots folks.

Wow, Now that's a view! Don't let your Cat see the photos or there will be hell to pay!
Not saying Jags are known for holding grudges, but you can bet at minimum she'd not be on speaking terms with your Rover for a while....
Thanks for sharing!

I did this drive on my Harley back in 1983, on my way up to Peace River. What a spectacular road. The further north you go, the bigger the mountains get. I remember that after 4:00pm it was impossible to find a camping site.
