3cm to 4cm, so it probably will not stick to roads, but we got slammed on our inaugural drive, and those of us with foot wide tires didn't enjoy a bit of it.

Not happy bout that at all......
Thoughts?
Not good! Plus, it’s supposed to rain in Leavenworth Saturday. I’m sorry friends, but that and the snow doesn’t lend for the drive I was hoping for. I’m going to bail this year.

Let’s make 2020 a better drive year.

It's too early to make a decision. Weather predictions (not forecasting) are notoriously iffy in this part of the world, and especially the Cascade mountains. I remember well that a few years ago the drive was cancelled due to a weather prediction. Karen and I went ahead and did the drive by ourselves, and the weather was absolutely perfect. If you look closely at the current warnings they expect strong wind with some rain probable with bare and wet pavement and possible snowflakes in the air only at the very summits of Stevens and Snoqualmie. Blewitt may be slightly more problematic. Bear in mind that all of this is a worst-case scenario and not necessarily expected to be as serious.

Since these predictions can rapidly change let's wait to call it until late afternoon or evening please.

Ha! To be fair, on that first drive I still had the OEM Dunlops and they were HORRID. The PSSs are WAY better in almost every condition. Other than my rears are close to needing replacement. /chuckles

I'm not that frightened by a little bit but... I suppose we'll stay tuned today.

Let's at least agree to do a go / no go decision by 5pm-ish or so, ok?

Swimref has a point, and everyone should know me a Chicken Little with "The sky is falling" reactions to bad weather. I do however take safety of the group as an important thing to think about.

Saturday is going to snow on the passes, but morning temperatures are predicted to remain above freezing. If true, then the roads "should" remain clear and wet for those few miles and we may have beautiful snow covered peaks as part of the view.

Saturday afternoon however will see temps begin to drop to a low of 30 degrees, and a return over the passes could become problematic. Blewett pass is the only pass mentioned in the alert.

It is forecast to rain in Leavenworth with a high of 47, and if true, this wouldn't be enough to dissuade me. We live in Washington after all, and we have had fun in the rain on this side

Last minute feedback needed.....

Agreed. As long as we have enough folks checking in here to stay posted, I'm good with that. (I'm on new tires as well)

Just to cut through my confusing post. This drive is currently a "Go" until a final decision at 5pm. Rain cannot stop the fun!!

I would like to hear from each of you that you have "checked in", and are following this weather discussion. If we opt to pull the plug, I'd like to know we didn't leave someone sitting at Safeway wondering where we all are.

Many thanks
Vince

LOL!

Well then, it's looking like snow.

Maybe we'll look again later in October to see if we get a nice surprise saturday or sunday.

I'll call it "no-go"

However, folks like Swimref are a hardy folk, and may make the drive anyhow. So if you're inclined to try, there could still be a few going!
Lets hear from you all ASAP, so I know you got the word......... "in" or "out".

Thanks
Vince

I won't go this time, mainly because I had a full day (220mi.) of driving today and we have a Mariners game tomorrow night. We are going to get our schnitzel fix at lunch tomorrow at BFD in Lake Stevens (equal food to Keller but less atmosphere). Maybe next time for L'worth.
