2001 XK8 chrome 8 fluted wheels.
Looking to have them rechromed.
Anyone have theres redone?
Who does reconditioning in the Houston area?
or am I better off finding good used wheels?

 

Jaguar has a very large number of OEM wheels available--many of which are very beautiful. And then, you have the aftermarket with great wheels at reasonable prices. Do you really, really like your wheels--enough to spend big bucks having them chromed? Also to be considered are the tires you're going to mount on these wheels--and the miles you have left in them. I suggest you search online sources for new or used wheel/tires you might also like just as well.

 

california wheels does almost all the chroming for OEM wheels stateside, and we send them there too. The onther thing is that they many times have sets ready to go that you send you in as trade and minimal downtime. I dont know which ones you have that are 8 fluted wheels, but I have a set of XKR 2001 18"wheels on my 96 and I know theyre not made anymore by Detroit wheel(OEM supplier) and very hard to find. It took me 6 months to get 2 rear from a recycler when my first pair got destroyed. I check with California wheel at the time too and they didnt have. So you may have to send and get them done. But I can tell you that Cali wheel does guarantee their chroming and Ive seen some really crappy jobs done from others(roughness, poor shine, and inconsistent coating) You can also have them stripped and powder coated locally. there are alot of good powder coaters out there are the color choices are many. From hard to tell its not chrome to black style chrome and colors in between
