Dallas jag mechanic?
I used Jim H many times in the past for help with my XJS's ( 76 conversion, 78, and 84HE ) and found him reliable and straightforward. I've just purchased an 2000 XK8 off of CL and know I'll be calling on him again soon....
There's an outfit just off the N Bound Service road on I35 in Lewisville called British Leyland. I've never used them, but I expect by the name, that they should be intimate with old British cars.
I'll repeat my post in this thread from May 2012, we have had good luck with 5th Gear in Lewisville off of 407. They replaced the transmission seal and water pump on our XJ8 and we've had no issues. They also replaced the air-shock pump and front air shocks.
Depends on what you're having done. Recent Oil change on my XKR was $110-120 for full synthetic. My brakes are ridiculous b/c they are the Alcon package. Haven't needed a tune-up yet. This is all at European Service Center near Love Field. They've been good for me so far (I do NOT recommend Park Place Jag Service).
Welcome to a relatively free state, JagMan. Depending where you are...he may be a little far for you, but give Motorcarman a call. Definitely your best option if you need something major done, but may be a bit of a stretch to get to him for just an oil change or other minor maintenance.
Another thumbs up for Jims Jag shop. I just bought a 2002 xkr and he saw it for the first time last week. He checked it all out and did not try to sell me anything on it, just gave good advice and basic service for a very good price. He walked me thru his shop and showed me a motor similar to mine and pointed out the good and bad on it and what to look out for. Didn't mind spending time with me. Great guy.
Dang! How'd I miss this one?!? Oh!...I discoverd Twitter recently......If you don't mind "crossing the border" - or the Trinity....get thyself out West to a rural stretch of land between Boyd and Decatur and see this forum's own Motorcarman! You will never regret having Motorcarman turn a wrench on your Jag. Bwilson you may want to ask him about Beamers - I know he specializes in Jags and VW's.
Sensoria,
What is your year/model? Was yours a Jag CPO warranty or a separate warranty?
I just bought an '09 XKR from an individual with a year left on the Certified Pre-Owned warranty (which Jag just told me covers everything that the original warranty does). I'm very close to Park Place Dallas, but will take it to Park Place Plano or Autobahn in Ft. Worth if they'll fix my issues under warranty.
Thanks for the help!

I took mine to Jim after 2 other mechanics that weren't able to find out what was wrong with it. Jim was the only one able to find out and repair it. He really knows about Jags. I highly recommend him.
Have more recently had this forum's own Motorcarman / Bob Gauff do work on my XJ6 and XK8. He's between Boyd and Decatur, small private shop on his house property. Really genial, nice guy with massive experience and terrific skills. AAAA+++ recommendation.
Agreed ! Well worth the drive !
Tried the dealership in Fort Worth worth and I knew more than the guy trying to help me (and I am a first time Jag owner). Took my XK8 to British Auto in Haltom City and this guy knows his Jags. They did some warranty work for me and were up front, did what he said he would do and contacted me when he said he would. As far as I am concern he is doing a great job and will go back as necessary. Reasonably priced from what I can tell. As I said, first time Jag owner and the first time I have had to have work done on one.
I've had great luck with JagMac. Russell does all my service and I've been very satisfied every time. You won't get a café mocha, but they know these cars and they're very fair. They've even helped me diagnose things that I fixed on my own. Highly recommend them.
I'd like to echo this endorsement for JagMac. Great experience every time! I had a 2001 XJ8 VDP and now a 2000 XK8 (long story for another forum). I live an hour away but won't even consider anywhere else. They're great! Not only does he fix everything, he helps troubleshoot and tells me how to repair things myself. I know this is a few months old but want to let you all know my opinion of JagMac. They have my complete trust and confidence... which I don't readily give to repair shops.
