Default Relocating to Austin

Greetings! I am relocating to Austin (grandview hills area) end July from Cary, NC. Getting Her Majesty the 2001 XJ8 ready for the 1300 miles drive. I look forward to hooking up with other jag lovers in the area. Need to get up speed with Jag club meets or other car & coffee like in the area.

Another Jag in the area soon!

Cheers

Well here I am - relocated to Austin. After few last minute fixes to "her majesty", I drove her 1,300 miles from NC to TX. Unfortunately, seems like she developped a (another) coolant leak... An original one was fixed (hose replacement), followed by another (thermostat cap replacement) and now... who knows. Even if my "coolant low" warning comes on after a bit more miles than before... Anyway, all this to ask - any (independent) mechanic I can trust in North Austin area?

Cheers

Not sure if you found a mechanic on the northside. I do my own work on my XJ6. However, you mentioned Cars and Coffee, which is out at the Oasis on 620 each month, put on by John Eagle Group of dealerships. Each year in late September is TX All British Car Days put on by the Hill Country Triumph Club, who have all the info on their website (I think hillcountrytriumphclub.org). This year there is a Fri night get together in Round Rock, Saturday rally and dinner, Sunday show at Old Settler's Park. Welcome to town!

Thanks for the update Blue, glad the move went fairly well, apart from a few car repair issues obviously.

Hope you get them resolved soon

Best

I look forward to seeing your car! I'm bringing my 87 XJ6 and my 78 Spitfire 1500. Can't miss the Spit, has white bonnet, white hardtop with twin blue stripes and no windows, and a brown body. And it's a bit louder than normal. I've been working on my Jag quite a bit lately, and am down to getting the speedo and cruise working, horn to work, and AC to be reliable.

Don't know if you found a good mechanic yet, but I have been pleased with JagTechs.
