I too will plan on showing up at the Mill Valley assembly location since I'm about one mile away. Rest of the day however is looking busy so far.

@David

You would be welcome at the start line..... only issue is you may not be able to resist doing the run with us :-)

Any chance you could bring your XJ6 ? I haven't seen one of that vintage for a long long time

Default Looks Like a Great Day

For some of us "older" readers, this may be as close to a "Flash Mob" as we get!

Hi Larry

Glad to have you.

As a new member you should also go over to the new members section of the forums and introduce yourself there. The board moderators watch that section and once they see you there they will start giving you board privileges (allowed to post attachments, see pictures, etc) which is really beneficial if you want to get the most out of this board.

Looking forward to meeting you on Aug 18th!

Welcome to the forum Larry,

That looks like a phone number you've posted so I've edited out the last four digits. Not a good idea to post that kind of information on a public forum.

If I'm wrong and it's not a personal number, please feel free to put it back in.

Graham

Default Great News - Bad Timing

I am flying to Tulsa OK on a red-eye Thursday night to buy a '92 XJS V12 with 63,000 miles and in very clean condition. The plan is to drive to Dallas for a night at my sister's and then make my way home, missing the event This Year, but having something for the next ralley. I am truly sad about the timing as I was looking forward to having a close up look at the cars I only see via E-Bay!
Speaking of E-Bay, for those who check cars there, this XJS was listed ~3 weeks ago and the bidding closed much lower than expected while I was on vacation. I contacted the seller "Many is the slip between the cup and the lip". Mr. High Bidder hadn't cleared it with his wife and the deal fell.
.
I'm very mechanical but not familiar with this car. Any advice would be appreciated.
Marcus

@Marcus

I guess the excuse of missing the drive to go and get an XJS is acceptable :-)

Head on over to the XJS forums..... go through the stickys. There is a mine of info in there for the new owner. A new XJS owner is always welcomed on that forum...... just show us some pics of the car :-)

Hi Jaguar Family. If it's not too late...I WANNA COME.

Please count me in for 2 people! My grand-daughter, Juliana (she's a jag lover too) and myself.

Dinner on Saturday night: 2

Drive & Lunch on Sunday: 2

...and one jag: 2003 X-Type 2.5. oh yea.

Thank you...for putting this event together.

I love cats too but 'Angel' is stayin' home this time. She's an indoor ragdoll who knows not the outdoors nor the smell of grrrass.

The dogs, Rocco (aka Pitbull...maltese mix) and Hunny (his seedling) will also be stayin' home this time with the hub-hubby, Willie.

...and a BIG SHOUT OUT to otisbd: TR6...TR6 !!! lol

I am looking sooo forward to meeting everyone

Peace & Love,

At the risk of making as if I know what I'm doing, I see a lot of XJ-S' being dumped after 50k miles because the 50k service is so extensive & expensive. So, hoses, Marelli distributor, wiring harnesses, documentation?

And finally....... remember to bring cash because the lunch place will not be able to split the check as its such a large party.
