I'm looking to see how or if I could register an UK Spec 1984 XJ6 in Cali. I brought the XJ6 back with me as my POV while I was stationed in the UK being over 25yrs old Federally its not required to be up to "US" specs. However in California it seems I would have to get it their emissions standards. I cannot recall where but I had read as long the car is in original spec from factory no requirements have to be meet. One other little stipulation stating that it can be privately sold without problem but if it were sold by a Car Dealer the car would have to upgraded to Cali emission standards.
