Default Fail safe engine mode

I'm back. I just installed the fuel pump in my 2002 xj8 It runs and works great. I also mentioned that I had a phantom concern that when driving the vehicle at times the vehicle would go into a fail safe mode reduction of power cause the engine to not throttle over 20 mph and the display says tranmission fault, trac control not available, ASC not available. I pull over trun off the engine wait for a several minutes like about five and restart it and she runs well. but today it happened serveral times with in a 20 mile range. Any ideas on what could be the phantom. It did have a code for a TPPS but I do not have a TPPS I have TPS what to do?
