Default Los Angeles area members check in here!

Hi All,

New here with an 03 XK8 Convertible, wondering how many other members are in the area and if we can setup a meet/cruise.

Perhaps I'll create a group on facebook if theres enough interest!

Thanks!

Hi Kingcobra,
Plenty of us out here. I have both a 2002 XKR vert 2010 XKR coupe. Doug (Seismicguy) and Ralph (ralphwg) and I have gotten together. Next month, the Queen's English Car Show is held at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, many forum members with every kind of Jaguar you can imagine (and some you can't) show up for this show, and we have a wonderful day. We'd love to see you there and introduce ourselves. I have done canyon runs with the F-type guys from the forum, and with some other X100 owners. PM me and I'll give you my information.

I also show up every few months to Supercar Sunday (every Sunday) at Woodland Hills Promenade on Topanga. Not a lot of Jaguars, but always some. Since the Promenade is being torn down soon, I'm not sure how long Supercar Sunday will be able to continue there, but in the meantime, there is always a great turnout.

Hey Tberg, very cool, I was actually at the Queen Car show last year with a friend who brought his dad Morgan to the show, very cool show with lots of different brands, loved all the classics there, specially a specific 20s Rolls

I actually live down the street from Supercar Sunday so I've been there many times as well!

Are there any Jaguar only meets or cruises? If not, we should try to set something up, would be cool to see a Jag only meet, it should be getting easier now that the F-type is out and bringing the younger crowd into the brand, me included but I got the XK8 for now

Anyways, I look forward to meeting up with a few of you guys sometime in the near future, I just need to take care of a few little issues and get to know the car better first haha

Any recommendations on good Jaguar mechanics that have reasonable prices in the Valley perhaps?

I use a mechanic in Northridge for all of my cars. He is not Jaguar specific but usually knows what he's doing around most cars. It's Sako's Automotive on Parthenia one block west of Reseda Blvd. (north side of street). He does body work as well as mechanical. Sako is the owner and if you'd like an introduction, just let me know.

There is also a Jaguar-specific club in Orange County:

Orange County Jaguar Club - Orange County, California

Rumors are that apartments, condos, and/or a hotel are coming, something in the housing market.

Thanks I might go with that but I'll first look for a Jaguar shop

Is there a reason why you cannot do the work yourself?

This forum is full of extensive knowledge on just about every system in the vehicle.

Someone should create a meetup group for regular car meets. There's no Jaguar or British car groups on it as yet.

I'd be interested as well as I know Ralphwg would as well. Maybe if not one evening a month, at Supercar Sunday at Woodland Hills Promenade early Sunday mornings. The Promenade is closing permanently at the end of this month, but I've not heard anything about Supercar Sunday moving to a different venue.

I just found this thread. I have a 13 XKR vert. I'm in the Palisades and would be interested in meeting up or doing canyon drives. FYI there is a LA Jaguar Owners Club, its web site is Jaguar Owners Club LA

Sorry about the truncated message. Most of the members seem to live in the Southern area of LA county or in Orange county. Membership costs $89 per year and includes membership for your significant other and membership in Jaguar Clubs of North America. I am a member and they have events multiple times each year almost monthly. I think there are about 300 members and there seems to be a larger representation of older vehicles e-types, 120's, XJ's, etc.

I'm going up to Pebble Beach with a friend that owns a very early E type that is in need of restoration. If any of you are planning on going up there pm me and perhaps we can get together.
