Anyone interested in a mid-to-late June drive in the Monterey area? Let's check interest level and establish a target date.

Hopefully there are some forum members from the Monterey peninsula that can chime in with route recommendations.

 

Assuming someone doesn't decide to ship me out of the State I'm in.

Mid June sounds about right. Please nail the date. I believe that Tberg would be willing to go as well.

 

How about June 22nd? I want to make sure we have good participation so I think we should avoid the 15th as it is Father's Day weekend. That said, I am open to either so please let me know what is truly best for everyone.

As I mentioned earlier I am not too familiar with the routes around Monterey so suggestions are appreciated!

I'd like to get a final head count around the end of May so we can put formal plans out a few weeks in advance. If you have already replied to this thread I will count you in and will send a confirming post at that time.

As for the things to see/to drive to, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Some examples:

1. Bixby Bridge

2. Pebble Beach and 17 miles drive

3. Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo

June 22 good for me .. Is this a two day thing 22/23? Point Lobos State park, just south of Carmel Is a fantastic spot for a picnic type lunch, GREAT views.....I think It's 5 bucks to get In..

 

We're thinking 2 days. Drive down early Saturday morning and spend the night in Monterey or Carmel. Looking forward to it. Haven't been to Monterey in years.

 

The Seafoam Sweetie VDP will be there.

if going to the track is part of the program, then move the trip up a week to 15/16 and watch the vintage racing. On 22/23 Laguna will be hosting SCCA.
