Just did a bit of recon work today on the way back from AZ. We will be meeting at a landmark near Hwy 1 and G16 (Carmel Valley road). I will PM all tentative attendees with a route and itinerary within the next couple of days.

Default Suggested shorter route

I will be there for lunch and will make part of the drive OR we can take another shorter route. 100 mile drive on top of the drive down is alittle over the top for the Sedan.

How about a 10:30am start and late lunch, some of us are not morning people.

I am going to stick with the original route, approx. 100 miles round trip.

If anyone would like to take a shorter drive please feel free. If you want to meet up for lunch that would be great, just let me know via PM prior to by 5 PM on the 20th.

I agree with Marc, the original plan sounds good and any changes probably should have been raised a little earlier.

Default Monterey

Litte change in plans for us. We will be spending Friday night in Monterey. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express at Cannery Row. We should be down to Monterey by 4:30 or 5:00. If anyone is interested in getting together for dinner PM me and we can exchange cell phone numbers.

New to the forum and can't make it this time (maybe next time). However, Just FYI, Point Lobos is fantastic...BUT nearly impossible to drive in on the weekends; when the very limited parking at the various locations fill out, they hold all cars at the entry shed and it is one car out, one car in.

We go down once every couple of months and we always park outside on Highway 1 and walk in (free). The parking there can get pretty filled (you have to walk a bit sometimes). The only way you are going to get a bunch of cars in a group in at the same time is to get there very early. And I think cars are closer to $8-10 each.

By the way, if you end up heading north up Highway 1 towards Santa Cruz, a great seafood place is Phil's Seafood in Moss Landing (where the powerplant is). Fun, popular (gets crowded but they move people through quick--finding a seat is the hardest part when busy but we've never had a problem), very reasonable, and highly recommended. Phil's Fish Market

Have fun!

Here is the "final final" list based on the replies:

Dave C -2
Sarc -2
Marc B -2
Rocam 81 -2 (drive TBD)
Water dragon -2 (meeting for lunch)
Smgdata -2 (drive TBD)

Looking forward to it, see you at the Safeway or Tarpy's.

FYI: Our friends from the SoCal cannot make it and I haven't heard from Captmal777 or Vmv. Hope all is well.

Hi, I am sorry I won't be able to join you as planned. I need to fix a rear wheel bearing and other family commiutments have arisen. I had a great time on our Napa get-together, I hope everyone has a great time in the Monterey area.
all the best, Vic

I realize it's past the deadline but my work schedule just opened up so it looks like my girlfriend and and I can make Saturday's drive. Hopefully they can squeeze us in for lunch at the restaurant but if not, I'm sure can will figure something out. We (Mark & Jen) will look forward to meeting you all at the Safeway tomorrow. We will be in a silver 1999 XK8 convertible with black top and interior.

We made it back safe and sound. Was there ever any doubt?!

Great weekend. Congrats to the happy couple. Great to see "the usual suspects" and nice to meet some new friends Mark and Jen.

Default Congrats on the drive!

Sorry I couldn't make it. Was a good call though as just moving made me motion sick on Saturday. Spent most of the day in bed.
