Great to have another XK in our small (but friendly) community!

Looks like Jill and I are in. Our son (25) is here visiting but doesn't fit well in the back seat of the XK. Does anyone have any back seat space to volunteer?

So, here is how we stand today :

YES:

SARC
DaveC
WaterDragon
david55838
ronpimentel
simonnallen
tufguysf
Mendo XK
MarcB (minimum Sat night)
VMV
AndyP

MAYBE:

uncledo
BiggJim

Expected "as usual" --> please confirm:
Enderle
Rocam81
smgdata
nardoswiss
captmal777
Rocky125

Based on this, I think we have a quorum, so the date is now LOCKED.

Location is kind of locked, ie just north of the Golden Gate bridge. This means it's not going to change to Los Angeles, or Tahoe...... it'll be "around the Golden Gate"

Format is locked : I will propose 1) a place for dinner on Saturday night, 2) A place to stay on Saturday night, 3) The driving route on Sunday morning. It's likely going to start at 9am latest, so think about staying over if you have a long drive, just to get to the start of the drive, and 4) A place for Sunday lunch. As before, people can participate as little or as much as they want.

If anyone has good suggestions on any of the above 1) to 4) based on your own personal experience, please send me a PM or post on this thread. I am now actively trying to work stuff out, but it would be a shame if I mess things up, and someone then says "Yes, it's a pity, I know this really cool restaurant/hotel/road that would have been much better than this cr*p SARC picked"

:-)

The backseat of Rocams Seafrost/foam VDP is nice :-) I'm really, really hoping to bring the XJS again (yes, I've fixed most of the stuff that went wrong the last time, don't worry) so I have less seats than your XK :-)

Sarc:

Thanks for organizing this!

I've got a crazy work schedule this summer so I cannot commit until closer to the actual date but chances are pretty good that Jen and I will be able to at least make the drive and lunch.

Maybe by then I'll have taken my resonators out and will have something to talk about!

@Mark

I understand about crazy work schedules. I'll move you to the "maybe" list, and you can update me nearer the time

Sarc ( and others ).....

Sarc, I've addressed this to you as you seem to be the driving force behind it....

Please advise if you would like the Jaguarforums banner for this? I'm sure we can get it shipped to you in time if required?

Aslo if you give me a rough idea of numbers, I may be able to get some Jaguarforums decals shipped to you for those that are interested.

Default Rocam81 +1

We are in! Going to see Steely Dan Sat 17th at 8pm at the Americas Cup Pavilion! We may be able to have a drink and appetizer, depending on the timing and location with the Saturday crew having dinner.

Please PM me if you have any suggestion/deals for Hotel stays, hopefully near the Piers...

How about a 10am drive start

I'm north of the GG Bridge, it would be a shame to miss something like this. Might have to wash the old girl.

Big thanks to Jim on the forums. I now have a really cool looking banner, as well as some nifty car decals. We will get to sign the banner during the meet up, then it will travel on to its next destination/meet/group of Jag owners.

I have been busy with work recently, then we were at the MotoGP at Leguna Seca this past weekend, but I'm now back to planning this meet, so stay tuned

Default Were in

Will be two of us. XKR should be fully sorted by then (one more pass on the rear lights and a sound system tweak) or I could bring the new F-Type and we could play "where the hell do you put the luggage".
