Hello guys, recently my 1998 XJR had a new fuel pump installed, but a check engine light with code 0302 was detected, which was misfire in cylinder 02. I really appreciate any technical advice I get on this trouble code.

Most commonly it is the direct ignition coil that has failed. Are your valve cover gaskets leaking?

 

Clear the code, swap the coil for cylinder #2 with another coil, drive the car until the check engine light comes back on and check if the code followed the coil.

That is a very easy way to tell if the problem is due to a coil.
