HID upgrade kits have been known to set off the "lamp out" warning in many cars. Have your kits been designed to address this issue?

This is fairly a common problem, easiest way is to wire a 194 wedge bulb inline with the factory wiring, and it will not set off that warning light/nor cause the flickering issue

I meant wiring them using an external bulb in the connection. Is the external lamp wired in series or parallel with the HID?

ahhhhhhhhhhh i see what your asking now, simply wire it in parallel, so the bcm "see's" the resistence from the 194 filament, that way the bcm wont cause a flickering issue, or throw a code for the lights. And yes it will light while energized, but using the 194 it is only a 5w bulb so it shouldnt be overly bright under the hood.

The new body style mustangs and new chrysler are notorious for flickering issues, and when i did the upgrades i always did the 194 bulb and it worked fine. Some people who dont really understand why this works, tend to tell people to add a relay setup to it, which doesnt help anything when it comes to the flickering issue.

i dont know, try entering the discount code. I will say this. Shipping was very fast, product was packaged good, everything worked out of the box, and honestly i have seen the exact kit for about 160 cost everywhere else. Even at 75.00 its worth it.

Just installed the kit into my XKR,everything fit and had no issues with the lamp burn out message.I ordered the 6000K units which are a little blue,if the was to do it over the 5000k would be the color of choice.

Eagle, 5000k would be my choice as well. In the HID projector, you'll still get some color from the cutoff.

Care to vote in the poll?
