It was always Pirelli P7000 for me on my X type and absolutely NO complaints wahtsoever!
I've had Continental Contact Sport 2 and Bridgestone RE050 on my A6 and both have also performed well in terms of wear, road noise and Grip for me.
Still a Pirelli fan at heart though........

I use Continental ExtremeContact DWS (225/40/18) on my 2007 x type. They are quiet, comfortable and pretty good for US roads (more specifically Washington DC conditions).

I'm running General Exclaim UHP's with my 19's and they are sticky yet comfy! M+S rated as well.

What about considering cost as well as quality? I may sell my beloved X-Type in a couple of years, so I want to get her something of good quality, but not crazy expensive like I assume Pirelli's would be.

I bought my X type with the front Pirelli tyres in need of replacement.

Having had several sets of Kumhos on my Ford I now have them on my X Type. I will replace the other pair soon.

Why Kumhos ?
I have read good reports on them.
A local Jaguar repair guy uses them when racing Jaguar saloons.
They are a reasonable price and are QUIET.

I hope my X Type quietens further when I have four fitted.
Just fitting a pair has significantly improved things.
I am happy to hear the growl but not excessive road noise.
My old 1998 140K mile Mondeo is still quite a bit quieter than my Jaguar

Hi Henry, I bought a set of 19" rims that came with brand new Kuhmo's......not a bad tyre at all for the price.

There seems to be some rave reviews around at the moment for Barum Bravuris2 ( these are made by Continental ) and a set of 19's for my A6 are £563 at National Tyres

Contis are 280 treadwear rated......Barums 360, so a little harder wearing
Contis are AA traction rated......Barums are A rated
Contis are A temp rated ......Barums A rated

Check it out as they are worth considering and becoming more popular
