Default Shopping: 05 S-type 3.0 with 18" wheels

I'm shopping for tires for a 2005 S-Type 3.0 with 18" wheels. The size is 245/40-18.

The current tires are Continental and we've been happy with them. When I check the TireRack site, I find that Continental has 5 different tires with the same name as what I'm looking for and the price range is from $168 to $218. When I checked the "OE Fitments" I find that my tires are the $181 model.

1. What's the difference between these 5 tires?

2. Would there be any advantage to changing to a different one of the five? For instance, the tire listed as my current tire has a treadwear listing of 400 whereas I can pay $8 per tire more and get a tire with a treadwear listing of 500.

Further, on the TireRack site, the reviews for the five tires are all the same.

Eric
