Default Would 16" 5-spoke rims from '94 XJS fit on '92 XJS?

Trying to determine if the wheel in the first photo (16" by 7") could be a replacement for the the second one pictured, the 15 x 6.5 or 15 x 7 lattice type wheels on a '92 XJS, without any mods or issues. I've seen the bolt patterns for both listed as 5 x 4.75, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer as to offset, etc.

Should be a direct swap. Not sure about the offset but, if there's a difference, it won't be enough to be of consequence.

Check the lugnuts, though. There may not be an issue but Jaguar used several types of lugnuts so make sure whatever type you use will fit the wheel and provide a good purchase on the studs.

Thanks. Are you aware if they made any of the lattice type wheels in 16"? I've not been able to find any online.

Yes, in 16x7 and 16x8 for the "XJ40" sedans. Very rare and very expensive when you can find them.

Thanks Doug. You think a 16" x 8" would fit on a '92 XJS without offset issues? Not that I could find a set for a decent price.

I think the fit would be Ok but can't swear to it.

I've only ever seen ONE set of 16x8 lattice for sale....for something like $1800. The 16x7 lattice isn't quite so rare but you'll still have to search and pay a hefty price, I reckon.

The 16" x 8" are also showing up as an option that was available on the '98 and '99 XJ8. Waiting on a local guy to email some photos of a set he has for sale.

They won't be lattice wheels, if that's what you wanted. And there might be an interference problem on the front hubs. Be careful.

Yeah, I'm not going to mess with trying 16 x 8. If I come across a set of 16 x 7 at a reasonable price I might consider them. I did find a freshly chromed set of 16 x 7 lattice style, but not a fan of the chrome, and they were $400 each.

I wasn't very clear. If there a problem it would be on acccount of the wheels coming off an XJ8. They had smaller front hubs....so the center hole of the wheel might not fit over the larger hubs of an earlier Jag.
