Default XJ40 wheels

My wheels need help. 15x7 chromed Sovereign wheels, and my front have the chrome peeling with corrosion behind, the rear have some rust staining, plus all hubcaps are missing. It looks like the previous owner used black silicone to attach the hubcaps. Pricing two used wheels, plus 4 hubcaps, I'm leaning towards aftermarket and I have options. The options require moving to 16" rims and tires, but I'm good with that and lower profile tires. Plus, more open wheels mean I can paint my calipers.

Option 1...Tirerack doesn't list anything for a '90 XJ6, although they have two 16" versions for a '95. I was looking at the Sport Edition 16x7.5, slightly wider than stock. I've read here x300 wheels will fit an XJ40.

Option 2...Discount Tire has Voxx MG3 wheels listed for an XJ40 in 16x7". I've read others experience with Voxx wheels on an Xtype, but not any on an XJ40. Plus I have ordered many tires from Discount Tire in the past with good results.

The weird part about me looking at new wheels...
I priced the Voxx wheel/tire package at $800 last week. This week, I get an email from the IRS stating I screwed up my '09 return and, if I send in this form I can claim a 'working credit'. Then farther down in the mail pile was a check for $800 plus interest!

The wife said...."Order 'em"!

Of course, this is the same woman who wants the front seats redone and the whole car repainted, "I don't care what it costs!"

Once the car is done, I may never get to drive it!

Any opinions on wheels?

Dave
