Default I updated my navigation maps to the 2012 version!

Lately I have been modernizing my 2002 Jaguar X-type and I'm sure alot of yall are trying to do the same. One thing we all need is the latest navigation GPS DVD and that can get to be very expensive! Well after searching the web, I did find a website that sells a "copy" of the real factory dvd and for only $50. I was kinda of skeptical because I couldn't find any reviews of people that have used this website, but within a week of ordering I received my DVD in the mail and installed it in my car. Works perfect and installs very easy.

So the link is below... I told myself I would let my fellow Jaguar owners know about the website if it worked for me.

Latest JAGUAR XJ X&S-TYPE GPS NAVIGATION MAP UPDATE DVD | Repair Service Manual

I do not work for this website. I am just a recent customer. It will only be a burned CD, not the original CD from the dealership, but it works exactly the same. And for $50, I think it is well worth it. It works for XJ, S, and X-type Jaguars from 2002 to 2009!

My maps were 10 years old and since 2002 there has been many new roads and highways that my GPS wasn't reading. Now it is reading all the new roads, stores, highways, parks, etc. It also has a new Jaguar logo on it. It is well worth it!

Yup, that is the new logo I have on my screen.

I just got home from a trip to somewhere in my town I have never been and the GPS came in handy alot! It gave me a shortcut that I wouldn't even think of taking and it cut my driving time in half. I also noticed the navigation seems to be more accurate and organized than the previous DVD i had. So yes, it works way better and it looks more colorful.

I read somewhere that the upgrade allowed you to replace the on screen leaper with an analog clock screen. Is that true?

Not true as far as I know, I've looked through all the menus, the diagnostics mode as well as had a glance at the data structure of the DVD & read numerous threads on all.

Too bad really.

Is there a way to tell what version of the maps you have from the screen or do you need to look on the disc?

Not sure if it says on the disc or not but, I knew mine was a 2002 disc because I got the car from a relative who was the first owner.

I would suggest you just take out the Nav disc in your cat and have a look.

Hey GGG had my nav disc out today making the change to the 11/12 version that the OP was talking about my old jag disc I did not see the date but I am getting up there and will take another look.

The updated disc worked fine and I just put it in and waited while it loaded (without turning the ignition key!) took around 10 minutes. Didn't have time to check it out thoroughly yet but looking forward to it. Not bad for 50$

Thanks again Hustle!

Hyde, silly question. Looking online, there are 2 versions of the discs. You have an east coast version (covers all of Canada and all states east of the Mississippi) and then you have the west coast version (covers all of Canada and all states west of the Mississippi). Does yours cover the whole US or just one coast. I am curious. I do a lot of travelling and it is not uncommon for me to end up who knows where and having a working navigation system would be nice.

Here's one of my old Europe OE Jaguar DVD's (I've arrowed the date location in red):

I'd expect the same style of label will be used on genuine Jaguar DVD's for all regions.

We need a 4 DVD set to cover Europe. From all reports I've read, the US is a 2 DVD set.

The link I posted is for the exact disc that I ordered and it seems to cover all the states, both East and West coast. It must have been already combined into one dvd.

Thought I had the newer maps because I have the black Jaguar screen at startup(Like dennis black posted). Pulled the disc and it looks like I have the older disc. Guess I'll have to get the newer disc.

I ordered the disc from Hustle Hyde's link and it works perfectly. Thanks Hustle Hyde!

wyxtype: Nav Menu-Navigation Set Up-Map Version shows installed version on the screen. The new disc says 2011-2012.

Thermo: Nav Menu-Destination Entry-Change (Search Area) allows you to pick any area in USA or Canada. I picked the North West area and it works fine. I assume the other areas will work as well.

Glad this post has helped some people out. I love my updated GPS. It has really come in handy lately and has literally paid for itself with the money I have saved on gas by taking shortcuts provided with the new maps.

I may have spoke to soon on this dvd but I seem to be having some weird electrical things going on. Disc works great and all but wife says that the intermittent washer wipes are not working now and the audio which used to blast is now virtually hard to hear at all.

Having this stuff checked right now and plan to send email to the guy that sells the disc maybe just a quirk or could be some entirely different.

Anyone else that has put the new disc in having any problems?

Thanks
