spiel, let me do some looking around. The car should be able to handle it. The main thing I would think is you would end up getting a new headlight switch (one that has the trip buttons in it). Granted, part of it may be that the computer isn't monitoring the injector opening cycles, which is what the gas engines use to determine the amount of fuel used. I'll see what I can find.

spiel, looking at the diagrams, as long as you have a display in the bottom of the instrument cluster, by adding the proper headlight switch, you should get the trip feature to your car. All the wiring should be there. Then it is just a matter of whether the computer is setup for that. But, since generic computers are used to handle all options for these cars, the correct stuff should be inside of the computer.
Wish you luck.

Gave it a go this past weekend and everything installed without a problem...except that I got the infamous "Security Failed" message :-( Other than that, new headlight switch and new speedo worked without an issue. Had to put back the original speedo so I can drive the car for now. I might just wait on that dealer visit until I retrofit the SatNav, something tells me I'll get the same problem with SatNav since it came from another car and I'm sure my car would need to be told it has the touchscreen to prevent fault codes, saves me from paying the ******* twice for programming.
