Default 04 x type losing power

So,

I've had a problem for awhile and I cannot figure the issue out. The car has been losing power at different times, and has been "bucking." I have replaced the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump, cleaned the injectors. Most recently, I was driving home on a hot day, and the car stalled out and came back with an error code of p0191. Now, that has since disappeared on its own, but the problem still persists. Today, I went out to go to work and the car will not start. I have also noticed a humming noise coming from the throttle position sensor. Does anyone have any idea on what is the issue?

Travis, when you start the car, do you notice the motor rolling over more slowly than it has in the past? I am thinking you are suffering from either a bad battery (which is causing the ECM to go nuts on you) or one of the battery cables is developing a high resistance connection which is driving down your cars electrical system, leading to the loss of power.

If you want to know how to test this, let us know and we will help you out here.

Well.....I went out yesterday and tapped the fuel tank with a hammer, low and behold, it started. I haven't noticed any slower turnover, but in the same, if there was an issue with the fuel pump, wouldn't I be seeing more codes....or any code?

Keep an eye on things and if you have another no-start condition, tap the bottom of the fuel tank and if the car will start right after that, then you are looking at a fuel pump going out. Some times they will throw lots of codes, other times, none.
