Default 2.1 x-type 2003 over fuelling

Hi just bought an x-type well had it for 6 months now and not a problem till now really it seems to be using a hell of a lot of petrol compared to when i first bought it , only getting around 350 miles per tank compared to at least 450 when i first got the car

are there any common causes for this , sorry if there is already a thread i did look under overfuelling but never came up with anything .

another quick one is there any obd software i can use with this car that doesnt cost the earth lol

Maybe the reason you can't find anything is that anyone outside of Britian has no idea what over fuelling is. We assume you mean you're over filling the gas tank.

Is your car gas or diesel? AWD or not, how many KM on it?

sidewalkman - Its a 2.1 petrol powered X type and by over fuelling, I'm taking it he means that its using too much fuel, mpg seems to have dropped and is there a reason for this?
Check out the general tech help section for results on OBD scanners etc.

Hopefully some of the other more knowledgable guys will chime in with answers......THERMO???....lol

No probs on the obd scanners tp
As regards the car, when was the last time it was serviced and all the usual components changed?
Presumably you were'nt doing all motorway driving and now all town, stop / start driving?.......Sorry, but I have to ask

There have been a few mentions in various threads that overfilling the oil can seriously impair the mileage!
